Last week I wrote about my app going free for 24h.
These are the results one week later.
So it’s been a week after I told you how crazy my app went in downloads.
So, a week later, am I swimming in money?
Ok, not at all.
Let’s break down a little bit some data.
These are the app downloads:
My app used to have 1-5 downloads a day, and after the AppAdvice event, looks like it’s stablished at 20-30 daily units.
I’m quite happy with this result.
The ASO expert, Steve Young says that you need to focus first on getting downloads.
Once you have 20-25 daily, you can start focusing on optimizing your funnel.
So that will be my focus in next weeks: changing the onboarding, making it longer and personalized to the user, do A/B test with paywall configurations, etc…
As you can see, in revenue terms, I have so much room for improvement:
Not gonna lie, to be honest, I was expecting way more sales than that.
Now, I have an app with decent daily downloads and a pretty good ratings amount:
Therefore, it’s time to work in increasing the conversions.

How exactly you plan to change the onboarding flow? I mean, just random experiments or you use analytics for that?
